It's not you that fails at diets - it's diets that are failing you!

Diets have failed you!

It’s the New Year and you hate the way you look – right? You are determined that this year will be the year that you will get your weight under control.

Never again will you endure that Christmas do worrying about how you look. You were in tears before you went out because you hated your size, the dress, and yourself. How many times have you felt like this?

How many times have you joined slimming groups and found yourself eating everything you can lay your hands on after you’ve been weighed? After all it is a whole week till you’ll be weighed again – isn’t it? Then you find that you are eating all the wrong things right up to weigh day – so you don’t go, but you’ll start again tomorrow and go to the group next week, won’t you?

But you don’t, you desperately want to lose weight and you feel a terrible frustration that you can’t get on top of it. Why can’t you do it, what’s wrong with you, it’s so unhealthy, such a bad example to your children, you hate the way you look and the clothes you have to wear. You have come to loathe shopping; you dread the summer because it will mean you can’t wear that jacket.

You are running from yourself and there’s nowhere to hide.

  • Diets have failed you because they have focussed your mind on food so that you now are constantly thinking about what you can eat next.
  • Diets have failed you because they have made you hate yourself because you can’t stick to them, so now you eat to make yourself feel better.
  • Diets have failed you because they have lowered your metabolism with the deprivation of diets. Quite simply - Diets Make You Fat!!

So how can you get out of this cycle? You know that to lose weight you need to eat less, or eat the right things and exercise more, but you just can’t do it. You need to change how you are approaching it and STOP DIETING!!

Instead of beating yourself up for pretty much anything, start by seeing yourself in a positive light. You have always done your best in life – ok, so you’ve made mistakes and horror upon horror you have allowed yourself to become overweight! But you are a good and worthwhile person, capable and able – and yes, able to lose weight successfully.

First you need to get rid of all the rubbish you are carrying round with you. Accept who you are and start to love yourself. Just sit comfortably for a moment and close your eyes.

Breathe in lovely calm relaxation; breathe out all that tensions and stress. Imagine a beautiful relaxation coming down through you head, flooding through your body – all the way down to the tips of your toes.

Now when you are feeling relaxed imagine you are next to a huge, beautiful calm lake. There is a canoe next to you; I want you to put all those failed diets into that canoe.

Now put all the mistakes you have made throughout your life into the canoe. Now put all the wrongs people have done to you into the canoe.

Untie the canoe, and watch as it floats away. It’s getting smaller and smaller as it goes towards the horizon, floating away. Watch as it disappears over the horizon. Gone forever – you can never get it back because it’s in your past, and you are no longer the person you were in the past.

Now breathe in a feeling of being motivated, breathe in a feeling of success. Have a full length mirror image of yourself as you really are in front of you.

See yourself looking relaxed and happy, see yourself looking slim and attractive, see yourself looking in control. Open your eyes and notice how good you feel.

I would like to bet that because you feel good you are less likely to want to eat for comfort. My programme works because I take the pressure off and start to focus on the positive. It is achieving amazing results.
